I Can’t Wait!

Like always, I’m watching dozens of TV shows and I try to see at least one movie in the theater a week. But most of the shows I watch or movies I see, they either aren’t grabbing my attention (not their fault) or I have them on while I do something else (only really applies to TV). But two things are coming out later this summer that I can’t wait for.
Materialists
Celine Song’s latest movie is set to premiere in theaters on June 13th, and it will no doubt be another instant classic like Past Lives was. This movie hasn’t been on my radar for a long time. I’ve seen posters for it, but I’ve only seen the trailer last week and I fell instantly in love. It brought me back to the glory days of 2000s cinema. A rom-com centered around a matchmaker (Dakota Johnson) who tries to set up wealthy clients with other wealthy people, or someone who wants wealth - did I get that right? She tries to find happiness for herself when she is confronted with two love interests, a wealthy businessman (Pedro Pascal) and a former love who has no wealth and isn’t as put together as Pascal (Chris Evans). Already I’m rooting for Evans, but I can’t wait to see how things turn out!
Wednesday: Season 2
OMG! OMG! OMG! I CAN’T WAIT for season 2. I know people who refuse to watch this show because it’s not what the ‘90s movies were. But nothing will replace that, this is an adaptation of what Wednesday Addams - the knife-wielding queen that she is - does without her family. And like most teenagers who are as independent as they come, she’s going to solve a crime or crimes. Last season, Wednesday didn’t want to go to the boarding school that her parents sent her to, but she built relationships and friendships and ended up wanting to come back for the next school year. Which means I can’t wait for the next school year - August 6th!!!!
