I Have an Odd Complaint

Bye, Max! See you in another couple of years!
This is Going to Be a Short Rant
First off, I am not complaining about the streaming service(s). I’m complaining about Warner Bros, not making up their minds about what they wanted their streaming service to be called. It hasn’t even been a decade since they launched during the pandemic. While I have been with them since probably December of 2020 (I think I subscribed when Wonder Woman 1984 was released on the platform), I just think it's bad marketing or something - I know I’m not one to talk, but come on!
Both name changes were about branding. The first change was because Warner Bros, wanted people who weren’t subscribed to know that they were more than just the HBO content. They wanted potential subscribers to know that they had Harry Potter, The Big Bang Theory, and Game of Thrones - plus everything else. But the second name change was because people are more inclined to subscribe to the streamer if “HBO” is somewhere in the name of the service. Again, it’s all about branding and the numbers. But this took them 5 years to figure out.
The only comparison I can think to make is when Prince changed his name to The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, but let’s face it, he was still Prince. Hopefully, we won’t come back to this conversation in another couple of years when/if they change their name back to Max. But for now, I’m going to get off of my soapbox and watch some Game of Thrones. Thank you all for letting me rant.
