Andor

Happy belated Star Wars Day!!!

A Show Unlike Any Other

Let’s be honest when Star Wars fans found out that a television series about the famous Rebel spy from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was going to be created; they weren’t exactly holding their breaths for something that would be something different. If you were like me, you were probably expecting it to be like any other Star Wars show.

I was expecting adventures like in The Mandalorian where a man with a specific skill-set gets paid by different people to do things like ‘kill this person,’ ‘make sure that man doesn’t get on that ship,’ etc. Or about a man climbing through the ranks and earning respect kind of like The Book of Boba Fett, except it was less about a man becoming a gangster-type figure and more about a man becoming a decorated spy and resistance leader.

However, this show really showcased what the Star Wars multimedia universe can become. This show was about political espionage. It wasn’t just about Cassian of Andor, it was about the political leaders of his type and what it really took to create a rebellion and to build an army. And it showed the sacrifices that it took to get to Rogue One.

The show is set to get one more season (and only one more, because of what happens to the character). However, if season one was any indication we want to see what they do with the world building of a world that was already fully built. They created a world set during a certain time in the Star Wars universe. And let’s not forget the old notion that less is more.
